We have one (1) opening in our Class of 2030 cohort (students entering grade 9 this fall)! If you are interested in applying, please submit a Grade 9/10 Application Form to the Prince of Wales Mini School email (pwmini@vsb.bc.ca) by Friday August 21, 2026 at 3:00 PM. Applications should include the application forms linked on our website and two Learning Updates (Grade 7 and Grade 8) with all teacher comments. Please submit your application in a single email with all files attached as PDFs.
Successful candidates will be contacted the same day for an interview and assessment, which will be held the following week, either on Monday August 24th or Tuesday August 25th at Prince of Wales Mini School. Thank you for your interest!
Note: Given that PW Mini has an accelerated math program, strong math proficiency is recommended as students in this cohort will be starting Pre-Calculus 10 in the fall.

The Prince of Wales Mini School is a district enrichment program offered by the Vancouver School Board. The school was established in 1973 in order to meet the academic and social needs of highly motivated students. Prince of Wales Mini School consists of 140 students from Grade 8 to 12 (28 students in each grade).
The purpose of Prince of Wales Mini School is to create a positive learning environment where students are challenged to excel in a broad range of subjects. We offer an intellectually rigorous academic curriculum, as well as exposure to a wide variety of enrichment activities. We encourage students to develop as well-rounded individuals—to find an appropriate balance of academic, athletic, artistic, and social pursuits.
