District Registry Open

The Vancouver School Board (VSB) requires all applicants to any Mini School program in the district to register their “intent to apply”. Register online on the VSB website (https://govsb.ca/secondary-programs). No late registrations will be accepted.

Note: Registering online on the VSB website does not automatically register you for admission to Prince of Wales Mini School. You must complete and submit an application to Prince of Wales Mini School, in addition to registering online on the VSB website.

Application Deadline

To apply to Prince of Wales Mini School, please submit the following:

  • A completed Prince of Wales Mini School Application Form,

  • Photocopies of the applicant’s most recent Grade 7 Report Card, and

  • Photocopies of the applicant’s two (2) most recent Grade 6 Report Cards, with teacher comments.

Any other materials (e.g., letters of recommendation, examples of student work, certificates, etc.) will not be accepted.

Application forms must be received at either Prince of Wales Secondary School Main Office (2250 Eddington Drive) or Prince of Wales Mini School Office (4750 Haggart Street).

Note: Incomplete applications will not be considered. Due to limited time and resources, we will not be contacting applicants to notify them of incomplete applications. Please ensure the above components are included in your application package before drop-off.

Invitations for Interviews

Students selected for an interview will be contacted during this week via email. Based on our selection criteria, we will short-list approximately 100 students to be interviewed. Due to a limit of time and resources, we regret that we are only able to contact successful interview applicants.

Interviews

Interviews for short-listed candidates will be held in-person at Prince of Wales Mini School. Interviews will be approximately 90 minutes in length and include a numeracy assessment, literacy assessment, group activity, and one-on-one interview with the Head Teacher.
